There was a reporter there who was going to interview me afterwards, a newspaper reporter. We sat down together afterwards, and the man was not a Christian. He was very critical and cynical. You could see the look on his face.
And he said to me, “Dr. Roberts, how does the word of knowledge work?”
Students, it’s very difficult to explain to the secular world how God operates, because the Bible says that the carnal mind is at enmity with God. And when you try to describe it to a secular world, they think you’re crazy.
And so most of the time when I deal with the media, I don’t know how to answer those kind of questions. But the Lord handled it for me when he asked the question. He said, “How does the word of knowledge work?”
The Lord spoke to me and said, “Don’t answer his question. Instead, ask him how long he’s had arthritis in his right shoulder.” And I did.
And he said, “I’ve had it for years. How did you know that?”
And I said, “Well, never mind how I know that. To answer your question, the Lord is healing your shoulder now.”
Well, he put his pad and his pen down and he began to move his right arm and move his shoulder. His eyes just came out. You talk about shock!
He said, “What did you do?”
I said, “I answered your question. That’s how the word of knowledge works.”
So you can’t explain it, but you have some kind of idea. And I’m sure there are times in your life when you’ve had those kind of experiences, and you’ve not known what to do. Ask God, “God, what are You trying to show me, and what do You want me to do with it?”
